The Small Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Logo is indeed remarkable as it symbolizes its global nature. Further the alphabets are reminiscent of the encyclopedia that it is. The logo design is more or less in grey scale and even when all the alphabets and the 3 dimensional sphere is taken into account, the logo remains extremely simple to remember.
