Airline Logos

Logos and logo designs are very important for airline companies since a lot of their business is based on the value and respect people attach to their brands. There are a lot of different things that are kept in mind when designing an airline logo. They have to represent their national culture, be able to attract customer from home and abroad and project a safe, comfortable and reliable trip – some thing that few airlines actually manage to deliver.  

Most airline logos have anywhere from one to three colors. This is done to make the logo simple and sleek so that it is easily recognizable whether on top of a plane or on a ticket. The brand has to speak for itself, and the logo is the team leader.  

Many airline logos can easily be classified as text-based logo designs since they focus so highlighting the name prominently. Typically they have a small symbol next to which is the company name, and in some cases a slogan below it.  

Most airline logos prefer to have a symbol that signifies their national culture, the idea of flight or a purely commercial one such as the American Airlines logo. Airlines are among the most hated companies on the planet, at least for us in the west. Logo design helps these companies save a face in front of potential customers.  

Of course a good logo and branding cannot change the basic dynamics of  the airline industry, but it can nonetheless do its fair share in attracting customers.
