Reviews from a Logo Designer


Hi. My name is Ken and I am a logo critic for Company Logos. I am also a logo design by profession. Today I review five logos from different logo design companies and look at their positive as well as negatives aspects. I hope you find it useful in knowing what to look out for the next time you order a logo.



Logo Design Guru’s Logo Designer

We start of with the Windmill Land Services one of my favorite designs. What these experienced designers at Logo Design Guru have done is to successfully incorporate the two aspects of the company name.

The green color used in the logo represents the part “Land”, a critical part of the deal for these companies. The stripes add an optimistic look to the whole design and the landscape is also representative of the “Land” part.

The windmills in the logo off course represent the company’s main products and services, the windmill. By putting in 3 windmills, Logo Design Guru has added more to the design and made it more attractive than if only one windmill was added.

Logo Bee’s Logo Designer

Our second logo review is on the Gentle Child Logo from Logo Bee. The logo is marked by 4 inter-connected parts. This is primarily what’s known as a font based logo and includes a subtle hint of a child. The face of child is imitated in the letter c in the “Child”. This logo was specifically created for a company that deals in products that are used for gentle raising of young kids and babies including cloth diapers as well as covers among other things. Therefore it’s important to use soft colors as well as lines. This is a good example of function driven logo design whereby function defines form.

Logo Yes’s Logo Designer

The Heartland School of Music logo from Logo Yes is another example of function based approached on designing. Even though the logo is extremely simple in its design, it does an adequate job at representing the company. The edgy look may not be the best looks for a music school though. Nevertheless it is certainly a good design once you take into account the fact that is a Do-It-Yourself Logo from Logo Yes.

Logo Works’s Logo Designer

The Diablo Networks logo from Logo Works is a simple font based logo that relies on a single symbol with the name incorporated within the logo itself. This is often not desirable and professional logo designers and marketing gurus believe that the name of the logo looks better when detached from the main logo.
